At a thematic residency at the Gibraltar Point Centre for the Arts, on the Toronto Islands, I was fascinated by the colourful lichen encrusted twisted branches and twigs of the honey locust in front of my temporary home. In dry weather the tree’s bark appears a mottled dull bluei-sh green from the thick layer of lichen.

Framed in commercially sourced Honey Locust wood from Southwestern Ontario.
